Vaughan Forklift Training Programs

Vaughan Forklift Training Programs - If you are looking for a job as an operator of a forklift, our regulatory-compliant lift truck training programs offer exceptional instruction in various types and styles of forklifts, classes on pre-shift check, fuel types and handling of fuels, and safe operation of a lift truck. Practical, hands-on training helps participants in obtaining fundamental operational skills. Program content includes existing rules governing the operation of lift trucks. Our proven forklift courses are intended to provide training on these types of trucks: powered pallet truck, narrow isle forklift and counterbalanced forklift.

How to Safely Handle Loads

Do not raise or lower the fork when the lift truck is traveling. A load must not extend over the backrest due to the possibility of the load sliding back toward the operator. Check for overhead obstacles and ensure there is adequate clearance prior to lifting a load. Stay away from overhead power lines. Once the load is raised straight up, tilt it back slightly.

The lift truck is less stable when a load is in a raised position. Make sure that no body ever walks below the elevated fork. The operator must not leave the lift truck when the load is raised.

The forks should be level when handling pallets, and high enough to extend all the way into and beneath the load. The width of the forks should provide equal weight distribution.

Chock the wheels and set the brakes before loading and unloading the truck. The floors should be strong enough to support the weight of both the forklift and its load. Fixed jacks can be installed in order to support a semi-trailer which is not coupled to a tractor. The entrance door height should clear the forklift height by a minimum of 5 cm. Edges of ramps, docks and rail cars should be marked and avoid them.

If there is not proper ventilation into the forklift, do not stay in there for long periods. The interior of the truck should have enough lighting and be obstruction free. Check the forklift cab's flooring for holes. The installation of material that are non-slip on the floor would help avoid slipping. Clear whichever obstructions from docks and dockplates and make certain surfaces are not wet or oily.

Forklifts must not be utilized to tow or push other forklifts.
